Frequently Asked Questions About Bills Khakis

You have questions; we have answers.

WHAT’S THE DIFFERENCE BETWEEN MODEL #1, MODEL #2 & MODEL #3?
Model #1 is Bills Khakis' fullest or "relaxed" fit – longer in the rise and full in the seat & leg. Model #2 is their "standard" fit and about an inch less full trough the rise, seat & leg. As Bills would say, "Model 2 fits most people most of the time". Model 3 is the "trim" fit - shorter in the rise and trim through the seat & thigh. Model 1 & Model 2 are available in plain front and pleated styles; Model #3 is plain front only.

WHAT'S THE DIFFERENCE BETWEEN ALL THE FABRICS?
The best place to learn about which fabric is right for you is to read our handy Bills Khakis Fabric Guide.

HOW CAN I ENSURE I GET THE BEST KHAKIS FOR ME?
If you are new to Bills Khakis, the best thing you can do is buy a pair or two in different models and/or fabrics, and DO NOT specify a finishing length or hem style. Altered pants cannot be returned or exchanged.

However, since we do offer Free Alterations on all regularly-priced Bills Khakis, we're happy to credit you back on the pair you keep. To learn more about that, click here.

WHAT IS THE BEST WAY TO TAKE CARE OF MY BILLS KHAKIS?
Almost all of Bills Khakis pants are 100% cotton, and are machine washable. Having them laundered professionally will, in most cases, result in your khakis lasting longer. That said, any pair of Bills Khakis should last years and years.

SHOULD I EXPECT ANY SHRINKAGE?
Repeated washing and drying can result in shrinkage beyond 1% to 3%. Should that occur, simply hang your khakis dry. Length and fullness will come back. To limit wrinkles without ironing, simply flatten your khakis on a flat surface while damp and let dry. If you wear your khakis professionally starched, they will size up larger and longer than if cared for at home. We do not recommend letting out the waist due to marks left by the original seam.

CUFFS OR NO CUFFS?
This is definitely a matter of personal preference. Fashion-rule purists would argue that any casual pants should have a plain bottom (a jean stitch or a blind stitch). That said, there are plenty of gentlemen of impeccable style that take their khakis with a healthy cuff. Our advice would be to go with your personal preference unless you plan to golf in your khakis. Then, go with a plain bottom so you don't collect grass shavings and dirt from the course.

CAN WE GET YOU OTHER LIMITED EDITION ITEMS NOT FEATURED ON OUR SITE?
Yes and No. We can special order any Limited Edition product that Bills Khakis has available. While Bills Khakis does keep some extra inventory on hand each season, it tends to be sparse. We can usually find out within 1 business day.

Please understand that we cannot accept returns on Limited Edition items that we special order unless we agree to accept the return prior to placing the order on your behalf.

CAN I PREORDER ITEMS FOR UPCOMING SEASONS?
Actually, yes you can. Knowing how fanatical Bills Khakis customers can be about Limited Edition issues, they set up a website called BillsKhakisPub.com where they preview the upcoming season, and customers can pre-order for the next season (Fall is previewed during the Spring and Spring is previewed in the Fall). To pre-order, the website will ask you to pick a "Preferred Retailer", where of course we would hope you would select us, and then you can reserve specific products from the next season's offering. Should you choose to reserve items, they will likely not ship for months, and you will not be billed until your item comes in.

ARE ALL OF BILLS KHAKIS' PRODUCTS REALLY MADE IN THE U.S.A.?
Yes. Every product that Bills Khakis sells is made in America. From pants to shirts to belts, they're all made in the U.S.A.

WHAT IS BILLS KHAKIS' 110% GUARANTEE?
If you are not satisfied upon receiving one of their products, or should the quality of their sewing ever fail you, we (and they) will make things right, whether it be exchange, repair or refund.

Over time, Bills Khakis cannot guarantee their product against becoming worn, torn, faded or frayed. Fabric rips and tears suffered in the pursuit of life’s adventures are unfortunately not covered under their 110% guarantee.
