The Sydney is a great layering piece. The fleece back adds warmth, while wicking moisture away from the body. The durable, jersey face provides light wind resistance, so the Sydney can be worn as an outer layer. The 95% polyester, 5% spandex blend gives great four-way stretch while keeping bulk low.

Element4 Concept

Peter Millar's new "Element4" concept is simple: offer performance apparel, with a clear explanation of what that word performance actually means. Each garment in the Element4 line is labeled by a word associated with its chief property: water, wind, warmth, or wicking. A jacket labeled "water" will, as expected, be virtually waterproof, while a shirt labeled "wicking" will, as expected, pull moisture away from your body. Once you know the weather, putting together the day's outfit is as simple as collecting the words you need. For example, if you're worried about summer showers while playing Augusta, we'd suggest one wicking and one water layer.

There is, of course, a great deal of technical know-how underpinning the Elements4 line. The Whistler Fleece, for instance, has been tested and rated at 12CFM (cubic feet per minute), making it far more wind-resistant than typical, 250CFM fleeces. The Vancouver and Toronto rain shells are laminated, seam-sealed, and treated with DWR (durable water-repellant) finishes. In other words, Peter Millar has done quite a bit of research to make sure those words water, wind, warmth, and wicking actually offer performance you can feel.
