Visconti's Divina series takes its inspriation from the Golden Ratio, or 1.618. Also known as the Divine Proportion or Golden Mean, this number has reportedly influenced many different aesthetics throughout history, including those devloped during the Italian Renaissance and the works of Da Vinci.
Debatable as those claims may be, the Golden Ratio does have an uncontroversial, mathematical definition that's related to certain shapes in Euclidean geometry. Visconti built on both the whimsical and technical aspects of this famous number when designing the Black Divina series. For instance, the volumetric proportion of cap to pen is set according to the famous number. More symbolically, the golden spiral that harmoniously envelops the pen is said to represent the Golden Ratio. We find these elements meld together beautifully, creating a pen that appears simultaneously modern and timeless.
The body itself is made from a combination of black lucite and sterling silver.
